Before Your Apply

iUniversity Prep (iUP) is a tuition-free magnet virtual school within Grapevine-Colleyville ISD (GCISD), which means we do have admissions criteria and enrollment caps. Taking a few minutes to review the information below will help make sure your family is ready to hit the ground running. 

Applications for the 2027-2028 school year are not yet open. Please complete the 2027-2028 Enrollment Interest Form to be the first to know when applications open and receive updates on eligibility and next steps. iUP typically does not accept new students after the school year has begun. However, if limited space becomes available and mid-year enrollment is requested for the current 2026-2027 school year, you may indicate your interest in the form. Submitting the interest form does not guarantee enrollment or placement.

Are You Eligible? 

iUP is open to Texas students in grades 5-12. Before applying, please carefully review our admissions requirements to confirm your student meets our criteria. 

Important change for 2027-28 applicants
A change in Texas law means that most new students applying for the 2027-2028 school year must have attended a Texas public school for at least six weeks during the 2026-2027 school year. Exceptions apply to: 

  • Certain new Texas residents

  • Dependents of deployed military members

  • Students placed in substitute care

What to have Ready? 

The application is completed through GCISD’s secure Skyward enrollment system. Before you begin, gather the following documents so you can upload and reference them during the application: 

  • Student’s birth certificate

  • Student’s Social Security card

  • Most recent grade report (report card or unofficial transcript)

  • Parent/guardian driver's license

  • Residency verification documents with address matching parent’s DL

  • Recent utility (gas, water, electric) bill w/name and address

  • Recent mortgage statement or current lease agreement

Having these ready before you start will make the process much faster. Most families complete the application in under 30 minutes once their documents are in hand.
