Campus Procedures & Visitor Information

Visiting CMS

All campuses remain locked during the school day. Intercom systems are located at the main entrances of our schools. Visitors should go to the main entrance and press the intercom button located near the front door. Designated campus personnel will identify the visitor and the purpose of the visit. Once access is granted, visitors must check in with the front office. Our campuses utilize Raptor which compares information in the national sex offender database. Visitors will be asked to present a driver's license or state-issued ID. This will provide an added layer of protection to ensure our schools remain secure environments for students, staff and approved visitors.

It is very important that you bring your Driver's License or Government ID when you plan on entering the campus. In an effort to help parents know more about the new visitor process and how to operate the new check-in kiosks, the Director of Emergency Management and School Security made a video with instructions below!

Thank you for your cooperation in presenting your valid state-issued ID when checking in at any of our campuses. We appreciate your support.

Each teacher utilizes volunteers in a different way. Some opportunities may include:

  • Working with small groups playing an educational game

  • Assisting teachers with classroom jobs such as die cutting, sharpening pencils, etc.

  • Reading to the class

  • Attending a field trip as a chaperone

PLEASE NOTE
GCISD requires ALL volunteers & chaperones to complete a background check each school year.

To avoid a delay in your volunteer status, please visit the GCISD website to complete the form.
Failure to do so will result in a parent being UNABLE to attend a field trip or volunteer in the classroom.
